As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wrapped up its roadshow and rally in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on Wednesday, both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress agreed that the hill state had no room for a third force.
Suresh Kashyap, the state chief of the BJP, stated that the type of politics practiced by Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will not work in Himachal Pradesh.
“Kejriwal mentions corruption, but Himachal is already free of it. A third party has no place in the state. Himachal voters are well-informed and aware of their options “He continued.
Similarly, Kuldeep Singh Rathore, the state Congress President, stated that the crowd at the rally, which appeared to number in the lakhs, was mostly made up of “tourists” from Punjab and Delhi who “would go back.”
“Himachal’s people have rejected them. The upcoming elections will only feature the BJP and the Congress; Himachal will not allow a third party to run “He stated. The party’s state president slammed Delhi CM, claiming that his claims of not knowing politics are false.
“Kejriwal claims that he can only construct hospitals and schools, but what about the previous administration? Have they never constructed hospitals, schools, or educational institutions?” Rathore questioned the AAP and stated that the party is fantasising about forming a government in Himachal Pradesh.
Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab’s new Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Mandi and held a rally.
Meanwhile, buoyed by its landslide victory in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will run for all 68 seats in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections later this year.
Satyendar Jain, the Delhi Health Minister and an AAP leader, had previously stated that the party would run in the Shimla Municipal Corporation election.
Anup Kesari, state president of the AAP in Himachal Pradesh, and two others have joined the BJP.
On the other hand, in an interview with ANI, Kesari stated, “For the past eight years in Himachal Pradesh, we have worked around the clock with the utmost honesty and dedication for AAP. When Arvind Kejriwal came to Mandi for a rally and roadshow, he ignored the state party workers. AAP workers in the hill state saw this ignorance as an insult and left the party out of self-respect.” “We are extremely disappointed in him (Kejriwal). He couldn’t even look at us, who work for the party 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Only Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann were the main attractions of the roadshow in Mandi “according to Kesari.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur inducted the three leaders at the residence of BJP National President JP Nadda.
Meanwhile, Nadda will be in Himachal Pradesh for four days beginning today and ending April 12.
The news comes just days after the AAP’s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, held a roadshow and rally in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Thousands of supporters attended the rally in the hill state.
Following a resounding victory in Punjab, the AAP is now eyeing Himachal Pradesh. Notably, Himachal Pradesh will hold assembly elections in December of this year. The AAP will now run for all 68 Assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh.
Earlier, Satyendar Jain, Delhi Health Minister and AAP leader, announced that the party would run in the Shimla Municipal Corporation election.
In terms of election promises, Jain stated that if the AAP is elected, it will provide free electricity and water to the people of Himachal, as well as education and health care.
