New Delhi, 17thApril. The Army Commanders’ Conference is scheduled for April 18-22, 2022, in New Delhi. The Army Commanders’ Conference is a high-level biannual event held in April and October each year. The conference serves as an institutional forum for conceptual level deliberation, culminating in the formulation of critical policy decisions for the Indian Army.
During the conference, the Indian Army’s senior leadership will review the operational situation along active borders, assess threats across the entire spectrum of conflict, and conduct an analysis of capability voids in order to focus on capability development and operational preparedness plans.
Discussions are also planned on infrastructure development in border areas, modernisation through indigenisation, the introduction of niche technology, and the assessment of any impact of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Apart from proposals concerning improving work, financial management, introducing e-vehicles, and digitisation in the Indian Army, the senior commanders will deliberate on a variety of agenda points sponsored by regional commands. Board of Governors meetings of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and the Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF) will be held as part of the conference.
On 21 April 2022, the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh is expected to interact with senior commanders and address the Conference.
During the MoD Interaction Session, the conference also serves as a formal forum for senior Indian Army leadership to interact with senior functionaries from the Department of Military Affairs and the Department of Defense.
