TDP to Back Droupadi Murmu in Presidential Election

Amaravati, 11^th July. The Telugu Desam Party announced its support for NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu on Monday.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu made the announcement at a meeting of the party’s strategy committee, according to a press release.

“The TDP has always advocated for social justice. It has previously supported K R Narayanan and A P J Abdul Kalam for the position of President,” Naidu stated.

In the same spirit, they decided to back Murmu, the first Adivasi woman chosen to the highest constitutional post.

The TDP has one representative in the Rajya Sabha, three in the Lok Sabha, and 23 in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

The ruling YSRC Party had previously declared its support for Murmu.
