Tanzanian Man Arrested at Delhi Airport with 63 Capsules of Cocaine Worth ₹15 Crore

New Delhi, 14th August. A Tanzanian national was apprehended by customs officials at Delhi’s international airport after ingesting 63 capsules filled with cocaine, valued at nearly ₹15 crore. The arrest occurred on August 1, following his arrival from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, with layovers in Addis Ababa and Doha.

Upon interrogation, the passenger admitted to swallowing the capsules containing narcotics. He was subsequently taken to Safdarjung Hospital for medical intervention. At the hospital, he expelled 63 capsules, which were opened to reveal a white powder. Testing confirmed the substance was cocaine, weighing 998 grams.

The seized cocaine has an estimated street value of ₹14.97 crore. The individual has been taken into custody, and the narcotics have been confiscated by the customs authorities.
