New Delhi, 18th Jan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday shared an insightful thread about the SVAMITVA scheme, emphasizing its transformative impact on rural development and property ownership in India.

The SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) scheme, launched in 2020, aims to empower rural communities by providing property ownership rights. It uses drone technology for mapping residential land in villages, issuing property cards to homeowners, and streamlining land records to reduce disputes.

The initiative has been lauded for enhancing transparency, improving governance, and enabling rural citizens to use their property as financial assets for economic growth.
