Suvendu Adhikari, the former cabinet minister of Trinamool Congress is expected to join Bharatiya Janata Party during the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to West Bengal. Last month Suvendu had resigned from the West Bengal cabinet.

During his visit to West Bengal on December 19 and 20, Amit Shah will address rallies in at least three districts, including East Midnapore.

Criticizing the Trinamool leadership in a meeting at Haldia in East Midnapore, Suvendu said “why will it be for the party, by the party and of the party in Bengal?”

Suvendu’s exit from the Trinamool Congress ahead of the assembly election is expected to harm Trinamool. And now he is set to join Trinamool’s rival BJP.
