Congress leader Shashi Tharoor moved to Delhi court for seeking anticipatory bail on the death of his wife Sunanda Puskar.
Mr. Tharoor filed the application in the court of special Judge Arvind Kumar who will take it up hearing on Tuesday.
Taking cognisance of the charge sheet filed by the Delhi Police in the matter, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal had on June 6 directed him to appear before the court on July 7 at 10 a.m.
Mr Vishal summoning Shashi Tharoor said, “I have perused the charge sheet and documents filed along with it by the Special Investigation Team. On the basis of the police report, I take cognizance of the offence of abetment of suicide under Section 306 of the IPC of late Ms. Sunanda Pushkar and of committing cruelty upon her, punishable under Section 498A of the IPC”.
Pushkar was found dead in the suite of five star hotel on 17 January, 2014.
