Two days after Suvendu Adhikari resigned as MLA, West Bengal assembly speaker Biman Banerjee said that his resignation has not been accepted. The assembly speaker said that the resignation of Trinamool Congress MLA has not been accepted due to procedural lapses.
It must be noted that Suvendu Adhikari had resigned from Trinamool Congress on Thursday. Earlier, Suvendu had resigned from the post of minister from the state cabinet headed by Mamata Banerjee on 27th November.
West Bengal assembly speaker also said that he had examined the resignation letter and found that the date was not specified in it. Therefore it is not possible to accept the resignation.
