Prayagraj, 10th May. The Allahabad High Court on Monday granted bail to Samajwadi Party MLA Azam Khan after a period of 26 months.
The court has granted bail to Khan in a case of wrongful possession of Wakf Board property. The verdict was pronounced by a single bench of Justice Rahul Chaturvedi.
However, despite getting bail, Azam Khan will not be released from jail.
The SP leader will not immediately be released from jail, as last week, a new case was filed against him in connection with granting recognition to an institution on forged documents.
Khan has now got bail in 87 cases, including that of book theft, goat stealing, buffalo theft, land intrusion, land grabbing, forgery and power theft.
Now the SP leader will have to get bail in the 88th case filed against him last week before he finally walks out of the jail.
