SNOWFALL IN JAMMU-KASHMIR AND SHIMLA, SHIVERING COLD IN NORTH INDIA

Due to icy winds, North India is experiencing extreme cold weather. In many states there was a thin sheet of fog this morning, due to which the visibility was reduced. Fog enveloped many states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Odisha. Also the hilly areas like Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh experienced snowfall.

In the National Capital Delhi and its neighbouring states, there may be dense fog in the morning for the next few days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the celebration of new year’s eve may also have to be celebrated in the midst of bitter cold, as the temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees.

The Meteorological Department said that very dense fog conditions have been observed in different parts of Punjab and western Uttar Pradesh today. In Himachal the weather is expected to be clear on Thursday and Friday
