Patna, 16th Nov: A day after the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) suffered a severe defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, a dramatic family feud has erupted within the Lalu Prasad Yadav household. According to sources, Tejashwi Yadav had a heated confrontation with his sister, Rohini Acharya, during which he allegedly blamed her for the party’s poor performance and even threw a slipper at her.

Sources said that the argument took place on Saturday afternoon, with Tejashwi angrily telling her, “Tumhare karan ham chunaav haar gaye… tumhara haay lag gaya ham logon ko.” He allegedly abused her and blamed her for the party’s setbacks.

Hours later, Rohini publicly announced on X that she was disowning her family and quitting politics. She claimed she had been asked to step aside by senior RJD leader Sanjay Yadav—considered Tejashwi’s closest aide—and Rameez Nemat Khan, a long-time associate in Tejashwi’s core team.

Speaking to reporters, Rohini said, “I don’t have a family anymore. Ask Sanjay, Rameez, and Tejashwi. People who question them are thrown out.” She added that anyone who takes their names is attacked or humiliated.

In a detailed series of emotional posts this morning, she alleged that she was “humiliated”, “abused”, and “shamed” during the confrontation. Rohini claimed that her kidney donation to her father Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2022 was used to vilify her, writing that she was accused of giving him a “bad kidney” and doing so for money and a political ticket.

She wrote that she was left “orphaned,” adding, “May no family ever have a daughter-sister like Rohini.” She urged married daughters not to prioritise their parental homes over their own families, saying her sacrifice had been turned into an insult.

Rohini, one of Lalu Yadav’s nine children, was reportedly already upset over the expulsion of her elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for what RJD called “irresponsible behaviour.” Despite this, she had actively campaigned for Tejashwi ahead of the elections.

The RJD, which hoped to reclaim power, managed to win only 25 of Bihar’s 243 seats—its second-worst performance in more than a decade. As the party grapples with the electoral setback, the escalating family feud has deepened the crisis, raising questions about the leadership’s internal cohesion and the growing influence of Tejashwi’s close aides.
