Gangtok, 4th August. The Sikkim Science Centre will now be featured on Sikkim’s official tourist itinerary, according to an announcement by the state’s Department of Science and Technology (DST). The inclusion aims to elevate the centre’s profile and offer visitors a distinctive and educational experience.
Sandeep Tambe, Secretary of the DST, highlighted that adding the Science Centre to the tourist itinerary will enhance the public’s understanding of science and technology. “This decision will broaden visitors’ knowledge and provide them with interactive and engaging experiences. The Centre’s range of exhibits and programmes caters to both children and adults,” Tambe said on Saturday.
The Sikkim Science Centre boasts a variety of attractions, including a 3D theatre, a planetarium, and an innovation hub. These features are designed to deliver an immersive and informative experience for science enthusiasts. Tourists will be encouraged to explore these attractions and engage in the centre’s numerous activities.
Tambe also emphasized that this inclusion will have a positive impact on the local community and school students. It will not only foster a greater appreciation for science and technology among locals but also offer children valuable educational opportunities.
