Police sources said searches began earlier in the day and were ongoing at the time of filing the report. Officials claimed that AK-47 cartridges, pistol rounds and three grenade levers were recovered from the premises during the operation.

A First Information Report has been registered against the newspaper for allegedly spreading disaffection, glorifying secessionism and threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India and the Union Territory. Kashmir Times Executive Editor Anuradha Bhasin has also been named in the FIR.

The investigation is focused on establishing possible links and activities deemed detrimental to national security, police officials stated.

There was no immediate response from the management of Kashmir Times on the allegations.
