Shravan Utsav Inaugurated at Bikaner House in Delhi

New Delhi, 16th Aug. The Shravan Utsav Mela, organized on the occasion of Teej festival, was formally inaugurated on Tuesday at Bikaner House in New Delhi.

In New Delhi, Chief Resident Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, Mrs. Shubhra Singh, Commissioner of Rajasthan Foundation and RC Mr. Dheeraj Srivastava inaugurated the Shravan festival fair by lighting the lamp and cutting the ribbon.

This festival will be open for common citizens from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm daily from 15th August to 20th August 2023 at Bikaner House Complex, New Delhi.

Rajasthan Tourism, Rajasthan Foundation, Bikaner House Management Society and RUDA together have released the calendar of entire programs related to Handicraft Mela, Rajasthani Cultural Activities organized during Shravan festival.

In this fair, more than 40 stalls of Rajasthani artisans have been set up by the Rural Non-Farm Development Agency (RUDA), in which the art and handicraft items of artisans representative of Rajasthani art and culture will be available for purchase by the people of the capital.

Speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the Shravan festival, Chief Resident Commissioner Smt. Shubhra Singh said that it is a matter of happiness for the Rajasthanis settled in Delhi and the residents of the capital that Rajasthani art, culture and Rajasthani handicrafts are available in the same premises in this festival. Here you can enjoy cultural activities steeped in Rajasthani clothing, Rajasthani cuisine, Rajasthani art and culture.

She said that through such festivals, the Rajasthan government wants to make Bikaner House in New Delhi as the ‘Gateway of Rajasthan’ and a visible centre of Rajasthani art culture.

Commissioner of Rajasthan Foundation Mr. Dheeraj Srivastava said that this is a huge program to be organized in Delhi to promote Rajasthani art and culture on the occasion of Teej Festival. He said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, we want to make Bikaner House located in the capital a world class cultural centre through such Rajasthani cultural programs.

Giving information about the products and shops of Rajasthani artisans in the Garden of Bikaner House premises in collaboration with Rural Non-Farm Development Agency, (RUDA) in Rajasthan Utsav, Mr. Om Prakash of RUDA said that we have selected the artisans of Rajasthan to display their handicraft goods in this festival. called to sell visitors. These handicraft products include Blue Pottery, Stone Work, Rajasthani Jewellery, Marble, Brass Metal Work, Clay Face, Rajasthani Jootis, Barmeri Embroidery, Sanganeri Print, Bagru Hand Block Print, Rajasthani Sarees-Suits, Terracotta, Wooden Craft, Gota Patti, Tarkashi A variety of Rajasthani handicraft items including leather bags, Rajasthani paintings, Kota Doria, Ajraq prints, Pokaran pottery, Patwa work, Kavad cast art, Rajasthani bangles will be available for sale to the visitors.

Officers and employees of all the offices of Rajasthan Government including Additional Residential Commissioner Mrs. Anju Omprakash, Deputy Residential Commissioners Rinku Meena and Manoj Kumar Singh, Assistant Director of Rajasthan Tourist Center Chhatrapal Singh, PRO Shivram Meena were present on this inauguration of Shravan festival.
