Shiv Sena (UBT) Leader Slams Maharashtra Govt’s ‘Yojanadoot’ Scheme as Misuse of Taxpayers’ Money

Mumbai, 10th August.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve on Friday criticized the Maharashtra government’s recently announced ‘Yojanadoot’ scheme, calling it a “loot of taxpayers’ money.”

The state government has proposed appointing 50,000 youths as ‘yojanadoots’ to engage with the public and raise awareness about welfare schemes and application processes. The initiative, which has a budget of Rs 300 crore, comes ahead of the upcoming assembly polls, expected to be held in October.

Danve, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, accused the ruling alliance of using the scheme to siphon off state funds under the guise of public outreach. He described the ‘yojanadoot’ program as a “new ghost” created to divert money from the state exchequer to promote government schemes, alleging that the ruling parties lack grassroots workers to carry out their campaign.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Danve demanded that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, address the growing concerns surrounding the ‘yojanadoot’ initiative. He questioned the necessity of these ‘doots’ when existing government machinery could perform the same tasks.

“The taxpayers should realize their money is being used by the ruling parties to spread their campaign,” Danve claimed, urging the public to scrutinize the government’s motives behind the scheme.
