Sexual Harassment Claims Rock Punjab Church: Pastor Under Investigation

March 3- In a shocking turn of events from Jalandhar district in Punjab, a pastor has been accused of sexual harassment, casting a dark cloud over the local religious community. Pastor Bajinder Singh, known for his viral video “Mera Yeshu Yeshu,” is now facing serious allegations from a woman who has been a regular attendee at his church since 2017. The claims detail years of inappropriate conduct, underscoring the abuse of power and trust within a spiritual setting.

The woman’s complaint, lodged with the police on Sunday, asserts that Singh obtained her mobile number under the pretense of offering spiritual guidance and subsequently began sending her a series of unsettling messages. Initially, she felt uneasy but chose not to speak out, worried about the possible consequences and the respect her family held for the pastor.

The situation reportedly intensified in 2022 when Singh allegedly confined the woman in a cabin at the church on several Sundays. It was during these private meetings that Singh is accused of making unwanted physical contact, including inappropriate hugs and touches. The woman’s fear of retaliation, combined with Singh’s status as a respected leader, left her feeling trapped in silence.

Bajinder Singh’s rise to prominence through social media platforms, such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, has only heightened the seriousness of the situation. Known for his religious videos and endorsements from celebrities like Chunky Pandey and Aditya Pancholi, Singh’s influence reached far beyond the local community. This makes the allegations even more troubling, as it raises concerns about the potential misuse of power by public figures.

It’s crucial to recognize that while certain religious leaders, regardless of their faith, may sometimes be involved in criminal activities, these actions do not reflect the teachings or values of the religion itself. Unfortunately, when a leader in any community misuses their position of trust and power, it not only harms the individuals directly involved but also casts a shadow on the broader community or faith group.

The police have charged Singh under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 354A (sexual harassment), Section 354D (stalking), and Section 506 (criminal intimidation). An investigation is currently underway, and authorities have encouraged any additional victims to come forward.
