Chandigarh, 26th Dec. Several areas in Punjab and Haryana faced intense cold conditions on Thursday, with the common capital, Chandigarh, experiencing a low of 7.3 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (MeT).
In Punjab, Pathankot and Faridkot both recorded minimum temperatures of 4°C. Amritsar had a chilly night with a low of 5.7°C, while Gurdaspur saw temperatures drop to 6°C. Ferozepur and Rupnagar also felt the intense cold, with minimums of 5.7°C and 5.9°C respectively. Ludhiana and Patiala had matching minimum temperatures of 7.4°C.
In Haryana, Narnaul recorded a minimum of 4.5°C, while Sirsa had a low of 5°C. Karnal experienced a temperature of 5.5°C. Ambala’s minimum was 7.6°C, and Hisar recorded 6.9°C, while Gurugram’s minimum settled at 8.8°C.
The severe cold continues to affect daily life across the region.
