‘Service’ Part of Our Culture, ‘Helping’ Ingrained in Our Upbringing: Dr. Mandaviya

New Delhi, 15th August. Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Raksha Khadse, engaged with 500 youth volunteers in a special interactive session held on Wednesday.

The event, held in New Delhi, honored 400 National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers and 100 MY Bharat volunteers, who were invited as special guests for the Independence Day 2024 ceremony.

Dr. Mandaviya praised the volunteers for their dedication, stating, “Our young volunteers are the true torchbearers of change and progress. Their enthusiasm and commitment to nation-building are truly inspiring.” He emphasized the deep-rooted cultural value of service, noting, “Service is part of our culture. Helping each other is ingrained in our upbringing. These values will help you overcome challenges and contribute to a developed India.”

Highlighting the importance of youth involvement in national development, Dr. Mandaviya encouraged the volunteers to continue their community service efforts. He acknowledged the government’s role in creating opportunities for youth, citing initiatives like MUDRA Yojana, Start-Up India, and Khelo India, which have provided platforms for entrepreneurship, innovation, and sports.

Raksha Khadse commended the volunteers for their significant contributions, including their roles in the Meri Mati, Mera Desh campaign, Amrit Vatika creation, and various community initiatives such as plantation drives and blood donation camps.

The session featured an engaging dialogue where Dr. Mandaviya shared insights into government initiatives aimed at empowering youth and fostering volunteerism. The volunteers also provided feedback on enhancing youth-led programs and strengthening the MY Bharat portal.
