Senior IPS Umesh Mishra is new Rajasthan DGP

Jaipur, 28th Oct. Umesh Mishra, a senior IPS officer, will be the new Director General of Police in Rajasthan.

The 1989-batch officer will succeed incumbent M L Lather as DGP on November 3, according to an order issued by the department of personnel on Thursday night.

Mishra, who is currently the DG Intelligence, has been appointed as the DG (head of police force) for a period of two years (regardless of his date of superannuation) or until further orders, whichever comes first, according to the statement.

At the same time, he was promoted to the Indian Police Service’s apex scale (Level 17 in the pay matrix), according to the order.

Mishra has previously held positions such as Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Intelligence, ADG Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Special Operations Group (SOG), ADG Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), and Inspector General (IG) Bharatpur. He has also served as the Superintendent of Police for the districts of Kota, Bharatpur, Pali, and Churu.
