New Delhi, 18th May. Senior Advocate Adish Aggarwala was elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Wednesday.
Adish Aggarwala defeated his nearest rival Senior Counsel Dushyant Dave.
Aggarwala received 668 votes against Dave’s 477.
This year, senior advocates Ajit Kumar Sinha, Dushyant Dave, Dr Adish Aggarwala, and Rakesh Kumar Khanna ran for president, as did advocates Neeraj Srivastava, Dr Parvin Mutreja, and Yagya Deo Sharma.
The votes received by the candidates running for president are listed below.
Adish Agarwal – 668;
Dushyant Dave – 477;
Rakesh Khanna – 426;
Ranjit Kumar – 304;
Ajit Kumar Sinha – 144.
Sukumar Pattjoshi, a senior advocate, was elected Vice President.
Other candidates who ran for Vice President were Senior advocates Pavani Mahalakshmi, Vibha Datta Makhija, and Rachana Srivastava, as well as advocates Ajay Jain, A Baskar, Rahim Rauf, Nina Gupta, Usman Siddiqui, and DD Sharma.
Yugandhara Pawar Jha, the current SCBA Treasurer, was re-elected.
