New Delhi, 30th Sept. The theory and practice of mass persuasion are at the heart of politics. It is regarded as a very effective way to spread desired propaganda. Additionally, things are easier and faster in this digital age. A political party might use modern technology to their advantage when sowing their seeds. Even a meaningless and insignificant event can have a big impact on politics as a whole. However, any critical issues might emerge in a matter of seconds and then vanish without being noticed.
Apparently, it would be accurate to assume that the nation is about to undergo some very significant reforms in light of the most recent political developments in India. But this time, unlike in the past, it appears that the government is adhering to the wise maxim and more careful than before. Prior to enacting the significant reforms, it is conducting all necessary research and setting up a supportive environment for their implementation.
The government seems to be intending to foster an environment that will allow for the implementation of fundamental systemic reforms. These developments imply that the government may announce the adoption of the eagerly anticipated Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Additionally, the NRC might get introduced during the upcoming winter session of the Parliament. In order to implement its Sankalp Patra before the early hours of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
In Assam, the CAA-NRC has been the saffron party’s main electoral platform. The party did well on these platforms in the state, and it would not want to get caught if it entered the states for the 2024 General Elections.
Furthermore, it doesn’t want to act hastily and commit the same communication mistake that happened after the passage of an altruistic CAA act.
In order to prevent anti-India forces from taking advantage of moderate Muslims’ sentiments again, the government wants to arrest hardliners before announcing the CAA and presenting the NRC draft to Parliament.
Mohan Bhagwant has launched a Muslim outreach programme to dispel myths
The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is currently in power, is said to have its ideological roots in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. It has launched countless initiatives to improve society and uplift the underprivileged and poor. However, it has been needlessly demonised and falsely portrayed as an organization that is particularly hostile to Muslims for small-minded political reasons.
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwant has launched a Muslim outreach programme to dispel myths, combat anti-Sangh smear campaigns, and allay Muslim community fears.
In order to do this, he is scheduling back-to-back meetings with Muslim intellectuals and clerics from madrassas and masjids. The RSS is trying to connect with moderate Muslims through these outreach initiatives. The majority of these Muslims have been victimised by a violent minority of a few radicalised members of their community.
The largest Imam organization in the world, AIIO invites RSS Chief
It became clear during a meeting between RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Chief Cleric Umer Ahmed Ilyasi at a mosque in the heart of Delhi. Additionally, he went to the Madrasa Tajweedul Quran in Azadpur, North Delhi, and interacted with the students there.
The All India Imam Organization’s Chief Clergy Umer Ilyasi invited the RSS Chief to visit mosques and a madrasa. AIIO is notable for being the organization that speaks for the Indian Imam community. These gatherings are intended to allay moderate Muslims’ needless anxiety about alienation and vilification. Additionally, it seeks to fortify communal harmony, unify the nation, and celebrate unity in diversity rather than allowing diversity to serve as a breeding ground for polarisation and violent conflict.
In more than a month, the RSS Chief has met with Muslim intellectuals twice. Five Muslim intellectuals had previously met Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on August 22. Former Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, Former Chief Election Commissioner, SY Qureshi, Former Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah, Former Member of Parliament, Shahid Siddiqui, and businessman Saeed Sherwani met Bhagwat as well. Senior RSS officials like Krishna Gopal, Ram Lal, and Indresh Kumar accompanied Mohan Bhagwat.
According to media reports, the RSS Chief was paying close attention to the worries of the Muslim community. In addition, he discussed the issues that the Hindu community has, such as the slaughter of cows and the use of the term “Kafir.”
The meetings between the RSS Chief and other functionaries were described as cordial by Muslim intellectuals and clerics. These intellectuals and religious leaders described debate and dialog as the only path to national peace and advancement in their media interactions. The intellectuals decried the extreme elements of society while voicing their concerns.
Bhagwat emphasized that all of the residents of the nation were Indians, despite any differences in religion, attire, or cuisine. Before any other identity, there is the sense of being Indian.
BJP’s Pasmanda Outreach
PM Modi emphasized at the Hyderabad-based National Executive Meeting that the party’s objective has always been to move India from “tushtikaran” to “triptikaran,” or from appeasement to fulfillment.
In the meeting, top management instructed its staff to assist the weaker and excluded groups, particularly the Pasmanda Muslims.
Notably, Pasmanda Muslims are the underprivileged group within the Muslim world. To integrate them into the mainstream of development, efforts are being made.
According to reports, 85% of all Muslims live in the Pasmanda community. They are economically and socially backward despite being the majority. The group consists of backward Muslims and Dalits. The remaining 15% of Muslims are classified as Ashrafs or upper class.
While law enforcement agencies are going after hardliners, extremists, and those who support terrorism on the one hand, the RSS and BJP are reaching out to moderate and intelligent Muslims on the other.
The Popular Front of India and other organized criminal Islamic organizations’ terror infrastructure is currently the target of a crackdown by the NIA, ED, and other state agencies.
More than 100 hardliners who were accused of defiling the atmosphere and engaging in serious illegal activities like terrorism have been detained by security agencies during these raids.
Additionally, a number of state governments are drafting legislation to stop other evil deeds committed by radicalised Muslims.
Hardline Muslims frequently use the laws against cow slaughter, the prohibition of forced conversions (love Jihad), and the abolition of oppressive laws like Triple Talaq as examples.
Streamlining and updating Madrassa education
In addition to these legal and punitive measures, the governments have been streamlining and updating Madrassa education. To separate the law breakers and moderate Muslims, who make up the silent majority but have been oppressed and deprived by the violent minority, the accusations of land grabbing in the name of religion and money laundering under the guise of Madrassa education are being thoroughly investigated. This used to be allowed to happen for small-minded political reasons, but not anymore.
To cut off funding for extremist and radicalised Islamists while protecting the interests of regular Muslims, state governments are conducting inspections of Madrassas and Wakf properties.
India is in the process of self-cleansing
India is about to receive much-needed reforms. The Indian government appears to be using a two-pronged approach.
One is to allay the silent majority’s fear by ensuring their empowerment, free from any sign of appeasement politics. The second is to punish harder, the lawbreakers, anti-nationalists and ardent Islamists.
