New Delhi, 2nd Dec. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has raised a strong voice against the escalating violence targeting Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, urging the Indian government to mobilise global support and exert diplomatic pressure.

RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale condemned the persecution of Hindus and demanded the immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu monk and former ISKCON leader detained by Bangladeshi authorities. Das was arrested in Dhaka on Monday while travelling to Chattogram.

Hosabale criticised the Bangladesh government, led by Mumammad Yunus, for allegedly turning a blind eye to the growing atrocities against minorities, calling it a “silent spectator.” “The attacks, murders, looting, arson, and inhuman atrocities by Islamic fundamentalists on Hindus and other minorities are deeply concerning. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh strongly condemns these actions,” said the RSS in a statement.

The RSS also highlighted the unjust imprisonment of Chinmoy Krishna Das, accusing the Bangladeshi government of suppressing democratic protests by the Hindu community. Das had been leading peaceful demonstrations demanding justice for victims of religious violence.

Hosabale called for urgent diplomatic action, urging India and the global community to intervene and ensure the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh. “At this critical juncture, international institutions and governments must take decisive steps to address the situation. This is essential for global peace and brotherhood,” the statement added.

The attacks on Hindus have intensified in recent years, particularly during political turmoil. Following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government after a student uprising, radical forces targeted the Hindu minority. Thousands of Hindus staged protests in Dhaka and Chattogram in August, demanding accountability for the violence.

Incidents of vandalism, assaults, and destruction of property have drawn condemnation from international and local communities. The RSS has called for solidarity with the victims, while the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), an RSS affiliate, has launched a nationwide protest to highlight the plight of minorities in Bangladesh.

The RSS reiterated its commitment to supporting religious harmony and protecting human rights globally, urging the Indian government to take all necessary steps to address the crisis.
