New Delhi, 10th August.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has expressed “serious concern” over the escalating violence against Hindus, Buddhists, and other minority communities in Bangladesh amid ongoing political turmoil. In its first official statement on the matter, the RSS urged the country’s interim government to take decisive action to halt the violence.

“We expect the interim government of Bangladesh to take strict action to immediately stop such incidents. Also, the government must make proper arrangements to protect the lives, property, and honour of the victims,” read the statement issued by RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale.

The RSS condemned the violence, citing “targeted killings, looting, arson, and heinous crimes against women belonging to Hindu and other religious minorities,” as well as attacks on Hindu temples. The organization labeled these acts as “intolerable” and called for global solidarity with the persecuted communities.

In its statement, the RSS also called upon the Indian government to make every effort to ensure the safety of Hindus and Buddhists in Bangladesh. “As a friendly neighbour, the Government of Bharat is trying to play an able role in this situation in Bangladesh,” the statement added.

The RSS’ concerns were echoed by its women’s wing, the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, which issued a similar statement on Thursday. In a video message, the organization’s chief Shantha Kumari claimed that efforts were being made to create confusion and instability in India against the backdrop of the situation in Bangladesh. She urged Hindu society to remain vigilant and united to counter any such moves.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had also recently raised concerns about the safety of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, further emphasizing the gravity of the situation. Student leaders involved in the mass protests against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh have also called on their supporters to protect Hindu temples and churches.
