Hyderabad, 4th Jan. A. Revanth Reddy, president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), announced on Monday that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
He also advised anyone who had contact with him in the previous few days to take the necessary precautions.
Reddy, who is tasked with resurrecting the party in the face of stiff opposition from the TRS and the BJP, is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to ensure the Congress party’s victory in the upcoming state assembly election.
He has been targeting both the state’s ruling party and the saffron party for the past few months.
He was recently placed under house arrest in order to prevent him from travelling to Bhupalapally to take part in the “Rachabanda” programme.
The opposition party planned to hold a “Rachanbanda” in Bhupalapally as part of a state-wide campaign to raise awareness about farmer problems. The programme does not have permission, according to the police.
Revanth Reddy was barred from participating in Rachabanda for the second time this week.
