Revanth Reddy Slams Centre Over Delimitation, Calls It a ‘Limitation for the South’

New Delhi- Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday accused the Centre of conspiring against South Indian states under the guise of delimitation, asserting that the process would impose limitations on the region.

Speaking to the media in Delhi after meeting a DMK delegation led by Tamil Nadu Minister T.K. Nehru, Reddy announced the Congress party’s in-principle decision to attend the March 22 meeting called by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Chennai to discuss the proposed delimitation’s impact on southern states. Reddy, one of the seven chief ministers invited, said he would participate after securing the Congress high command’s approval.

“Delimitation is not just about redrawing boundaries; it’s a limitation for the South. We pay more taxes, have more entrepreneurs, and contribute significantly to the nation, yet we are being targeted,” Reddy said.

He alleged the BJP’s push for delimitation stemmed from political vendetta, claiming the party was attempting to punish South India for resisting its growth. “The BJP has been rejected in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and even Karnataka. They have no representation in Andhra Pradesh. Now, they’re trying to settle scores,” he remarked.

Welcoming Stalin’s initiative, Reddy underscored the need for southern states to unite against what he described as “conspiracies” from the Centre. “The Congress stands with the South. After getting the high command’s nod, I’ll be at the meeting,” he affirmed.
