New Delhi, 25th April. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conveyed profound grief over the demise of renowned writer, Binapani Mohanty.
PM Modi said that Binapani Mohanty has made monumental contributions to Odia literature, especially fiction writing.
He said “Pained by the passing away of noted writer Binapani Mohanty Ji. She made monumental contributions to Odia literature, especially fiction writing. Her works have been translated in various languages and attained great popularity. Condolences to her family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
Writer Binapani Mohanty passed away at her home in Cuttack on Sunday night due to age-linked complications, her family said.
Renowned Writer Binapani, a Padma Shri awardee, was 85. Mohanty was single and lived with her nephew.
Writer Binapani Mohanty has more than 100 books to her acclaim. She is famous for ‘Patadei’, Kasturi Mriga O Sabuja Aranya’, ‘Khela Ghara’, ‘Naiku Rasta’, ‘Bastraharana’, ‘Andhakarara’.
