“Rekha Gupta Has Risen from Grassroots”: PM Modi Congratulates Delhi’s CM

New Delhi, 20th Feb. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his congratulations to Rekha Gupta on assuming office as the Chief Minister of Delhi. Gupta, a BJP leader, took the oath of office in a grand ceremony at Ramlila Maidan.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister praised Gupta’s political journey, highlighting her rise from campus politics to state organization, municipal administration, and now the top post in Delhi.

“Congratulations to Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji on taking oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister. She has risen from the grassroots, being active in campus politics, state organisation, municipal administration, and now MLA as well as Chief Minister. I am confident she will work for Delhi’s development with full vigour. My best wishes to her for a fruitful tenure.”

Gupta, who won from the Shalimar Bagh constituency, becomes the BJP’s fourth Chief Minister in Delhi. Her appointment is seen as a strategic move by the party, given her extensive experience in governance and grassroots politics.

Her tenure is expected to focus on infrastructure development, women’s safety, and economic reforms in the national capital.
