Rear Admiral Nelson D’Souza Assumes Command at Military Institute of Technology, Pune

Rear Admiral Nelson D’Souza has officially taken over as the Commandant of the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune. He succeeds Air Vice Marshal Vivek Blouria. Rear Admiral D’Souza, an accomplished alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and the Naval War College, Goa, has held numerous key positions within the Indian Navy since his commissioning in March 1991.

Vision for MILIT
As the new Commandant of one of India’s premier tri-services technical training institutes, which educates mid-level officers from the Indian Armed Forces and friendly foreign countries, Rear Admiral D’Souza aims to enhance MILIT’s academic programs. His leadership will emphasize Jointness & Integration in training among the tri-services and fostering collaboration with industry and academia in niche technologies.

Future Focus
Under Rear Admiral D’Souza’s command, MILIT is committed to continuing its tradition of nurturing highly skilled techno-warrior officers. These officers are expected to steer the future of India’s armed forces, ensuring they remain a future-ready force.
