Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh Discusses Defence Cooperation with UK Counterpart

New Delhi, 17th Jan. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh held a telephonic conversation with the UK Secretary of State for Defence, John Healey, on January 16, discussing key aspects of defence collaboration. Both leaders emphasized strengthening bilateral ties and maintaining momentum in defence partnerships.

The ministers reviewed advancements in niche defence technologies, particularly in Electric Propulsion and jet engines. They expressed satisfaction with the recent signing of the Statement of Intent on Electric Propulsion, marking significant progress in their collaborative efforts.

Further, the ongoing exchange of military instructors between the two nations’ training institutes was evaluated, highlighting the growing focus on mutual skill development. With the UK prioritizing the Indo-Pacific region, both sides agreed to explore opportunities for joint initiatives and enhanced maritime engagements in 2025.
