Rajnath Singh Initiates Talks with Opposition for Lok Sabha Speaker Consensus

Union Minister Rajnath Singh took charge today in leading the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) outreach efforts to opposition parties aimed at forging consensus on the upcoming Lok Sabha Speaker. The NDA’s candidate for this pivotal parliamentary role is set to file nomination papers later today.

Sources within the government revealed that Singh engaged in discussions with key opposition leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Stalin. These talks are part of a concerted effort to build bipartisan support for the NDA’s nominee.

While the focus remains on the Speaker’s position, sources hinted that considerations for the Deputy Speaker’s role may also come into play, contingent upon the evolving stance of opposition parties.

The nomination filing marks a crucial step in parliamentary proceedings, reflecting ongoing efforts towards consensus-building across party lines.
