New Delhi, 24th June.
BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed disappointment over the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exams but affirmed his confidence in the government’s corrective measures. Speaking to ANI, he highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of examinations and the merit-based selection of candidates.

“It is disappointing that students have been disadvantaged. But as Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said, the government is committed to ensuring these examinations are conducted securely. Our focus remains on meritocracy, ensuring that deserving candidates benefit, not those resorting to corruption,” stated Mr. Chandrasekhar.

Acknowledging the concerns raised by the unprecedented perfect scores achieved by 67 candidates, Chandrasekhar noted the widespread protests and calls for reform. Critics have called for the disbandment of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the NEET-UG exams.

In response to these issues, the Ministry of Education has taken decisive action by forming a high-level committee of experts. Chaired by ISRO’s former chairman, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, the committee is tasked with recommending reforms in examination processes, enhancing data security protocols, and reviewing the NTA’s operational framework. The committee is expected to submit its recommendations to the ministry within the next two months.

“The Ministry of Education has initiated steps to ensure transparent, fair, and efficient conduct of examinations through the NTA. This includes reforms to strengthen examination mechanisms and data security protocols,” affirmed the ministry in a statement.
