GG News Bureau

Jaipur, 1st Nov. The Congress party on Wednesday released its fourth list of candidates for the Rajasthan Assembly election.

Manvendra Singh, the son of late BJP leader Jaswant Singh, will be contesting from the Siwana assembly seat.

AICC spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh has been fielded from the Udaipur assembly seat.

There is still uncertainty surrounding the seats of Congress leaders Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi, and Dharmendra Rathore, who are close aides of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. They were initially served notice from the disciplinary committee of the AICC but have since been cleared. However, sources suggest that they are likely to be dropped from the list of candidates this time.

The Congress held a meeting of the party’s central election committee to decide on the remaining party candidates in Rajasthan.

Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and members of the Central Election Committee attended the meeting. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and state party chief Govind Singh Dotasra were also present. Rahul Gandhi, however, did not attend the meeting as he had to campaign in Telangana.

It is worth noting that the BSP MLAs who were supporting the Gehlot government have been given tickets this time.

The Congress has announced candidates for 151 out of 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan.

The state has a history of changing governments every five years, but the Congress is hoping to break this trend.

Ashok Gehlot has introduced several welfare schemes leading up to the polls, and the party is projecting unity.

Rajasthan is one of five states that will hold elections next month.

The polling in the state will take place on November 25, and the votes will be counted on December 3.
