Jaipur, 31st Oct. Sachin Pilot, the former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan, on Tuesday officially submitted his nomination for the upcoming state elections. He is contesting from the Tonk assembly constituency.
Prior to filing his nomination papers, Pilot visited the Bhuteshwar Mahadev temple to offer prayers. He then led a procession with his supporters from Bada Kuan to Patel Chowk in Tonk city.
The polling for the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly is scheduled for November 25, with vote counting taking place on December 3.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet announced a candidate to run against Pilot. The deadline for filing nominations is November 6.
In the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections, Pilot contested from Tonk and emerged victorious with a significant lead of over 54,000 votes against the BJP’s Yoonus Khan.
