On the loudspeaker controversy, MNS chief Raj Thackeray attacked the Uddhav Thackeray government, claiming that the state government has “made AIMIM a bigger party.”
The MNS chief urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement the Uniform Civil Code and a population control law.
Raj Thackeray announced during a rally in Pune that he will have hip bone surgery on June 1. The announcement comes after his scheduled visit to Ayodhya on June 5 was canceled.
“I tweeted two days ago about postponing my Ayodhya visit. I purposefully made the statement so that everyone could respond. Those opposed to my Ayodhya visit were attempting to trap me, but I chose not to get involved in this controversy,” Raj Thackeray said while addressing the crowd.
He also asked the prime minister to rename Aurangabad Sambhajinagar.
The police had issued several guidelines ahead of the rally, which must be followed during the public rally. According to officials, the city police have listed 13 conditions that must be met, failing which legal action will be taken.
According to Swargate police station, Thackeray’s speech must not offend any community or cause ill will among people. Meanwhile, police have been deployed at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, where Raj Thackeray will speak hours before the event.
The police have also limited the number of people who can attend the event at the auditorium and have stated that the Supreme Court’s noise standards must be strictly followed.
MNS Pune President Sainath Babar stated that the rally is expected to draw 10,000-15,000 people today.
The police letter also stated that no weapons will be brought to the rally at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch here.
