PM Modi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for Key Railway Projects Across India

New Delhi, 6th Jan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple railway projects on Monday via video conferencing, emphasizing their role in promoting socio-economic development, boosting tourism, and enhancing regional connectivity.
Key initiatives include:
- Jammu Railway Division: Newly inaugurated division to bolster connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Rayagada Railway Division (Odisha): Foundation stone laid to strengthen Odisha’s railway network, particularly benefiting South Odisha’s tribal communities.
- Charlapalli New Terminal Station (Telangana): Modern station featuring solar-powered operations and improved regional connectivity via the Outer Ring Road.
PM Modi highlighted the ongoing modernization of Indian Railways on four parameters: infrastructure, passenger facilities, connectivity, and job creation. He noted the progress in electrification, the development of freight corridors, and the promotion of “Made in India” initiatives like modern coaches and station upgrades.
The Prime Minister praised iconic engineering feats like the Chenab Bridge and the Anji Khad Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that these projects symbolize engineering excellence and economic progress.
PM Modi also underlined the expansion of India’s infrastructure, mentioning a significant rise in the number of airports and metro networks. He reiterated the government’s commitment to nation-building, aiming for “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
Dignitaries, including Union Ministers and state leaders, attended the event, which reflects India’s collective effort to advance its connectivity and infrastructure goals.
