Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, while bowing to the valor of Indian army in liberating Bangladesh in 1971, said that at that time the leadership of the country was in strong hands and no one dared to violate the territorial integrity of India.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Best wishes to the countrymen and salute to the valour of Indian army on the celebration of India’s historic victory over Pakistan in 1971 war.”
It must be remembered that in the 13-day war between India and Pakistan in 1971, the Pakistani army surrendered unconditionally in front of Indian army on 16 December and Bangladesh became independent. Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India during that time.
