Rabindranath Tagore “Shaped India’s Literary and Cultural Soul”: PM Modi

New Delhi, 9th May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid heartfelt tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of his birth anniversary (Jayanti).

The Prime Minister remembered Tagore for his profound influence on India’s literature and culture. He highlighted how Tagore’s works emphasized humanism while simultaneously igniting the spirit of nationalism among the people. Shri Modi also noted Tagore’s inspiring efforts towards education and learning, citing his nurturing of Santiniketan.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his Jayanti. He is fondly remembered for shaping India’s literary and cultural soul. His works emphasised on humanism and at the same time ignited the spirit of nationalism among the people. His efforts towards education and learning, seen in how he nurtured Santiniketan, are also very inspiring.”
