New Delhi, 3rd Jan. In a significant move to enhance healthcare accessibility, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday flagged off two state-of-the-art Mobile Clinics equipped with IoT-integrated telemedicine services in New Delhi. These mobile clinics, a part of Aster DM Healthcare’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, will be deployed in Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) and Kalaburagi (Karnataka).

During the event, Dhankhar spoke about the crucial role of accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare, emphasizing that these have been a primary mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. He pointed out the impact of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which has provided financial relief to millions of Indians, ensuring access to healthcare worth up to ₹5 lakh, particularly for senior citizens.

Highlighting India’s strides in digital healthcare, Dhankhar stated, “India’s digital penetration in healthcare has earned global recognition. Telemedicine initiatives have been remarkably successful, providing diagnostic and medical tests through internet usage, making healthcare more accessible even in the remotest villages.”

The Vice President also praised the expansion of healthcare infrastructure, citing the increase in the number of medical colleges, AIIMS, and healthcare professionals. He noted that India’s healthcare system had transitioned significantly over the past decade, noting a strong doctor-to-population ratio of 1:836, and commended the nation’s success in pharmaceutical production, asserting that India is now the “pharmacy of the world.”

Dhankhar urged for further development of healthcare facilities, stating, “A developed Bharat by 2047 is not a dream, but a destination. A Fit India is foundational to this vision, and we need healthcare that ensures early detection and prompt treatment.”

The IoT-integrated mobile clinics, equipped with telemedicine services, will serve as crucial tools in reaching underserved populations, allowing patients to receive remote consultations and medical assistance. The initiative, supported by Aster DM Healthcare, is a part of the ongoing efforts to bridge gaps in healthcare access across the country.

The Vice President concluded by urging individuals and corporations to continue contributing to society’s welfare, reiterating the significance of CSR initiatives in supporting national progress.
