The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will embark on a two-day state visit to India on February 17-18, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday. His visit aims to further strengthen the multifaceted partnership between the two nations.
High-Level Delegation to Accompany the Amir
Sheikh Tamim will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, senior officials, and business leaders, reflecting Qatar’s keen interest in expanding bilateral ties.
“At the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will pay a state visit to India on 17-18 February 2025,” the MEA said in a statement. This will be his second state visit to India, following his previous trip in March 2015.
Key Discussions on Trade, Energy & Investment
During his stay, Sheikh Tamim will meet President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi, with talks expected to focus on:
- Trade and investment opportunities
- Energy cooperation, particularly in LNG supply
- Emerging technologies and digital transformation
- Strengthening diplomatic and economic ties
India and Qatar share strong historical and economic relations, built on friendship, trust, and mutual respect. The visit is expected to boost collaborations in strategic sectors and further solidify the India-Qatar partnership.
