Chandigarh, 24th Sept. Punjab BJP president, Ashwani Sharma, met former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh at his residence in Siswan, near here, on Friday, and the two leaders discussed the party’s future course of action.
This was Sharma and Singh’s first meeting since the Army veteran joined the BJP in Delhi on Monday. Sharma was accompanied by senior BJP leaders from the state unit.
“The BJP leaders discussed the prevailing political scenario in Punjab and the future course of action of the party, which has emerged as the main and only challenger to the misgovernance of the Aam Aadmi Party government in the state,” the BJP said in a release.
“Pleased to host the state BJP president Ashwani Sharma Ji and other senior leaders of the party at my residence today. Together we will work hard for a better and secure future of our state and our country,” the release quoted Capt Singh as saying.
Following a successful protest against the AAP government in Chandigarh on Thursday, the BJP is planning a mass mobilization campaign across the state, according to the press release.
The BJP staged a protest in which it accused the AAP government of failing on all fronts.
BJP leaders who spoke at the protest slammed the AAP regime for making baseless accusations against the party during ‘Operation Lotus.’
