Priyanka Gandhi Leads Maun Vrat in Lucknow, Demands Sacking of Minister Ajay Mishra

Lucknow, 11^th Oct. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra led a Maun Vrat (Silence) in Lucknow on Monday in support of her demand for the sacking of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, whose son is accused of killing farmers with an SUV.

In Lucknow, the Maun Vrat program by the party began at 3 pm, while in the rest of the country, the program lasted from 10 am to 1 pm.

State party chief Ajay Kumar Lallu, former MPs Pramod Tiwari and P.L. Punia and Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra were seated with Priyanka holding placards in which their demand for the sacking of the Union Minister of State for Home was written.

Party leaders staged a Maun Vrat at the feet of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at GPO Park.

Priyanka is leading a campaign against the accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and was even arrested when she was on her way to visit the families of the deceased farmers. At her rally in Varanasi on Sunday, she had announced that she would continue to fight over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident until the minister steps down to pave the way for a fair investigation.
