Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Wednesday that “rajniti” (politics) and “rashtraniti” (national policy) are the same for the BJP, and that there are some political parties in the country for whom politics means “parivar bhakti,” while the ruling party means “rashtra bhakti.” Noting that the BJP’s responsibilities, whether from a global or national standpoint, have been steadily expanding, the PM said, virtually addressing the BJP cadre on the party’s 42nd anniversary, that it makes each and every BJP cadre a representative of the nation’s aspirations and resolve.
On the occasion, BJP President J.P. Nadda interacted with 13 head of missions, including France’s Emmanuel Lenain, the EU delegation’s Ugo Astuto, Portugal’s Carlos Pereira Marques, Bangladesh’s Muhammad Imran, Italy’s Vincenzo De Luca, and Norway’s Hans Jacob Frydenlund, as part of the “Know the BJP” programme.
In response to Opposition parties that promote “dynasty politics,” the Prime Minister stated that such parties do not even promote young leaders, have little regard for constitutional norms, and cover up corruption and misdeeds of each other, despite the fact that they may be active in different states.
Congratulating BJP members, including those living abroad, on the occasion of the party’s foundation day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the BJP governments at the Center and states have worked to ensure that welfare schemes reach every beneficiary without discrimination or bias, in keeping with the party’s motto “Sabka saath, sabka vikas.”
Mr Modi said discrimination and corruption were “side effects” of previous political parties’ decades of vote-bank politics and making promises to some sections of society while ignoring others. He claimed that the BJP not only fought against vote-bank politics, but was also “successful” in informing the public about the dangers of such politics. Mr Modi also praised the party’s female and young supporters, saying the BJP cadre has been fighting against “discrimination, tyranny, and violence” against opponents who do not believe in the Constitution and democracy.
