Kanniyakumari, 1st June.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his 45-hour meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanniyakumari, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday. During his spiritual sojourn, which commenced on May 30 and concluded on June 1, PM Modi paid homage to the revered Tamil saint-poet Thiruvalluvar.

Throughout his stay, Prime Minister Modi meditated at the Dhyan Mandapam, the same location where Swami Vivekananda, a revered Hindu philosopher, is believed to have experienced a divine vision about ‘Bharat Mata’. This spiritual endeavor coincided with the culmination of polling for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

PM Modi’s visit to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial holds profound significance as it symbolizes unity and national integration. Situated at the southernmost tip of India, where the country’s eastern and western coastlines converge, it marks the meeting point of the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and Arabian Sea.

Notably, Kanniyakumari is also associated with mythological significance, as it is believed that Goddess Parvati meditated at this sacred site on one foot while awaiting Lord Shiva.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Tamil Nadu’s iconic landmark comes after his extensive election campaign, which included approximately 206 campaign events, encompassing rallies and roadshows, over a span of 75 days. His spiritual retreats post-election campaigns have become a tradition, with previous visits to Kedarnath in 2019 and Shivaji’s Pratapgarh in 2014.

The Lok Sabha elections, conducted in seven phases starting from April 19, will see vote counting on June 4, determining the composition of the 17th Lok Sabha.
