New Delhi, 15th May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, May 15, 2025, chaired a meeting focused on finding ways to further strengthen India’s fisheries sector.
The Prime Minister underscored the government’s significant focus on this area. “We attach great importance to this area and have worked extensively to improve infrastructure relating to the sector and also ensure greater access to credit as well as markets for our fishermen,” Shri Modi was quoted as saying.
The meeting involved brainstorming sessions on key strategies to enhance the sector’s potential. Discussions reportedly included ways to improve exports of fisheries products and increasing the focus on deep sea fishing activities.
Prime Minister Modi also shared information about the meeting on his official X handle, reiterating the importance attached to the sector and highlighting the discussions on exports and deep sea fishing.
