“I am deeply concerned about the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump.” We strongly condemn the incident. Violence is unacceptable in politics and democracy. I wish him a speedy recovery. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, the injured, and the American people,” Prime Minister Modi wrote on X.
Trump was shot in the ear during a Saturday campaign rally, leaving blood on his face and prompting his security men to surround him. According to the Secret Service, the shooter died, one rally attendee was killed, and two other onlookers were injured. The incident was examined as an assassination attempt.
World leaders were shocked to learn that Donald Trump had been wounded in an assassination attempt at an election rally. Presidents and prime ministers from around the world condemned political violence and offered solidarity with those affected by Saturday’s shooting, which killed one bystander and badly injured two more.
Trump, 78, had only begun his speech when the gunfire rang out. He grasped his right ear with his right hand, then lowered his hand to examine it before sinking to his knees behind the podium, when Secret Service members surrounded and smothered him. He emerged about a minute later, his red “Make America Great Again” hat knocked off, and could be heard saying “wait, wait,” before agents led him into a car.
