New Delhi, 30th July. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the Conference of Governors on August 2 and 3, 2024, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This will be the first time President Droupadi Murmu will preside over the Conference of Governors.
All Governors from different States will be present at the Conference. Additionally, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Union Ministers from various departments will also participate.
Other senior officials from different government bodies will join as well.
The agenda for the Conference includes discussions on implementing three criminal laws, reforms in higher education, accreditation of universities, development in tribal areas, aspirational districts, border areas, and more.
The role of Governors in national campaigns like ‘MYBharat’, ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, ‘Ek Vriksha Maa ke Naam’, and natural farming will also be discussed. Enhancing public engagement and improving coordination between central agencies in the states will be key topics.
Governors will discuss these agenda items in smaller groups and present their findings in the final session to the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, and other participants.
