Secunderabad, 21st Dec. President Droupadi Murmu presented Colours to the College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad on December 20, 2024.
In her address, the President emphasized the importance of India’s enhanced defence management capabilities, noting their role in strengthening diplomatic ties, boosting defence exports, and bolstering the nation’s proactive global security stance.
Highlighting the impact of emerging technologies on national security, President Murmu remarked, “The traditional definitions and methods of warfare are being redefined by advancements in technology and strategic partnerships.” She underscored India’s focus on incorporating artificial intelligence, drones, cyber warfare, and space defence technologies to modernize its defence systems and achieve global competitiveness.
The President also stressed the significance of institutions like CDM in equipping Armed Forces personnel with knowledge of technological advancements and changing operational dynamics. “In the era of grey zone and hybrid warfare, such institutions play a crucial role in preparing our forces for evolving challenges,” she added.
Acknowledging India’s growing influence in regional and global defence forums, President Murmu attributed this to the country’s commitment to self-reliance, strategic collaborations, and technological progress. She noted that these efforts not only ensure national security but also contribute to global peace and stability.
The event marked a celebration of India’s vision for a robust and modern defence infrastructure aligned with emerging global standards.
