New Delhi, 16th August. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying tributes to former Prime Minister and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary on Friday.

The solemn ceremony took place at Vajpayee’s memorial, ‘Sadaiv Atal,’ where Union ministers and leaders from various political parties also gathered to honor the late leader.

Vajpayee, widely regarded as one of India’s most respected politicians and finest orators, played a pivotal role in shaping the BJP’s rise in the coalition era of the 1990s. He became the first Prime Minister from the BJP and served from 1998 to 2004, during which his leadership was marked by significant reforms and infrastructure development.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away in 2018 at the age of 93.
