President Murmu Extends Greetings on Odisha Day, Hails State’s Contributions

Odisha Day, also known as Utkala Dibasa, commemorates the establishment of Odisha as a separate state on this day in 1936. The state was created through the division of Bihar and Orissa provinces, with Orissa being renamed as Odisha in 2011.

President Murmu expressed warm wishes to the people of Odisha on this special day, highlighting the state’s abundant natural resources and rich cultural heritage. She acknowledged the resilient people of Odisha for their important role in the progress of the state and the nation.

Throughout history, Odisha has produced many influential figures, including key contributors to modern India. President Murmu concluded her message by invoking Lord Jagannath’s blessings for the state and its people, wishing them continued success and prosperity.
