New Delhi, 16th July. President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday exercised the powers conferred by clause (2) of Article 124 of the Constitution of India to appoint two distinguished legal professionals as Judges of the Supreme Court of India.
The appointees are:
Justice N. Kotiswar Singh: Currently serving as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with previous experience in the High Court of Manipur.
Justice R. Mahadevan: A sitting Judge of the Madras High Court, recognized for his extensive judicial service and expertise.
Both Justices will assume their roles in the Supreme Court of India in accordance with their respective seniority, effective from the date they assume charge.
